Tommie Harris is the best pass-rushing DT in the game and arguably the best three-technique since

Tommie Harris is the best pass-rushing DT in the game and arguably the best three-technique since Warren Sapp.Hiscombination of quickness, explosion, and strength make him very tough to block when he’s healthy. If he can return to his normal speed, which he says is 110 percent, it will be a display of the best defensive tackle in the game.Great job to the Bears’ organization on this signing.. The Toronto Maple Leafs management makes another bonehead move!It looks to me that when it comes to drafting, or making moves during draft day, Leafs management sticks their heads up their arse. Nothing against the 34-year-old, but I was deceived to believe that the Leafs were going to stack draft picks this year, not trade them away for 34-year-old defensive forwards.I’m a bit confused, and blatantly grinds my gears to see this kind of nonsense, but then again maybe the General Manager had a senior moment.I hear old farts have them now and then. But not when you’re a GM of a team whose fans have accepted the fact the team will be bottom dwellers for the next couple of years.A team with old-balls in the locker room just got older.“Draft shmaft.”Right?Give me a break!. Baseball has, by far, the longest regular season. The 162-game stretch makes it easy for the average fan toover interpret the results of one game, or three games, or even ten games.Lately, this may have been especially true for Chicago Cubs fans.

Getting swept by the Tampa Bay Rays was completely demoralizing for many. Losing Carlos Zambrano to a shoulder injury didn’t help, either. However, a win at home like the one on Friday can do at least a little to turn all that around. Aramis Ramirez’ walk-off home run ended the Cubs’ recent three-game “skid,” and made fans believe again that this team can win. This year, this team truly can win many, many ball games. Even after the Rays’ sweep, the Cubs are 11-7 in June.Yes, they may lose at home at some point. But they’ll win a lot more than they lose, both in Chicago and on the road.Counting down to 50 wins before the All-Star Break….

I think the Eagles are ready to take back the NFC East. You may think I’m crazy, because we were 8-8 last year, but this year I think we will make it.McNabb is healthy, and we all know if he isn’t right, then neither is the team.We will only go as far as McNabb takes us. Like I said he’s healthy, and with the added speed of Booker and DeSean I think our offense will be explosive this year.Curtis did some good things last year, and I hope he can continue to build on that. I just don’t want him to disappear in games like he sometimes did last year.We also added some speed on defense, hopefully that will lead to more interception as the Eagles were awful in that department last season.Last year, we didn’t play well at all. We didn’t have any swagger on offense or defense, but ‘08 will be different.I feel this team is hungrier than ever, and coach Reid is talking in a way I’ve never heard before. He’s talking about winning now, and he didn’t build this team for the future. AR is getting some kick in his voice and approach this year.Let’s hope that carries over into the season and post season.I say the battle for the East is between the Eagles and Cowboys. This series is going to be fun to watch this year, and the NFC as a whole, for that matter.Lets’ hope the Eagles stay healthy and can bring that parade down Broad Street.Go Eagles!.

Getting ready to start a three game series with the Colorado Rockies, the New York Mets need to continue winning. After a major comeback wins against the Angels on Wednesday night, the Mets must keep the momentum going.Fans can keep saying there are a lot of baseball left, and as Met fans we know it can come down to the final week of the season; even the final game. But that isn’t good enough for the Mets. Football Tidbits:As many has heard there is some bad news regarding Slocum right now and I will leave it to that for the time being until some things get released officially.Regarding the all the football camps. The summer camp seems to be more for the younger players for the coaches to get an idea who to look out for in the next couple of years so not sure a lot of offers or commits will come out of it compared to the last coaching staff. The elite camp that was before the summer camp will be a time for kids that will be seniors to come in and show what they have and I am betting that Coach Rod and staff will probably have a lot more of these types of camps to see prospects. Also a lot more junior days as well compared to the old staff. Be interesting to see how the new kicking camp goes over especially having more of a Michigan connection instead of having others in charge of it.

I am willing to bet they will offer at least one kid possible two once they see them in person after this camp and hopefully be able to land a kicker in this years recruiting class. The 7 on 7 camp might be something that needs to be changed or get more people involved because this came out late and a lot of these tournaments have been going on for along time and some are the same weekend. The Indianapolis Colts have a big tournament the same time along with other colleges in the area so they might want to change the tournament to before all the camp stuff instead of after. The freshmen are making their way to Ann Arbor if they are not there yet. They are all supposed to take summer classes and work out with Barwis.
